Looker Studio is an excellent dashboarding tool that lets you quickly and easily share meaningful insight with collaborators. But sometimes, you only want to share a specific chart, not the entire report.
You'll learn here how to extract data from a single chart in a Looker Studio report. It comes in multiple formats, making it easier to use in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
For almost any chart, hover at the top right corner, select the three dots, and click Export.
Change the name of the future export if necessary.
Select between the three format options:
Check the "Keep value formatting" if you want any modifications made to the table formatting. Otherwise, it will be the raw data.
Click Export!
If you cannot see the three dots, contact the owner or one of the report editors. They can turn off sharing and downloading information for a report.
By activating this option, you prevent viewers from downloading, printing, or copying the report with their own data sources. You also prevent them from exporting data charts by charts.
By default, the three dots are only available on hover the charts. You can always make them visible in a given chart's Style menu.
You can even change the button color to contrast with your report.
There are several ways to share a report. You can find an article here detailing each method and its advantages and inconveniences.
