Looker Studio (formerly Google Data Studio) is a great tool to visualize your data, create reports and dashboards and present your performance to yourself or your clients.
But it can be time-consuming to create a great report that everyone will visually appreciate. So that's where the templates come in!
Looker Studio has a great community, and you will find many designs with a simple Google Search. Catchr has a dedicated templates menu; you can find one on the Looker Studio template menu.

Ok, if you are still here, you are in preview mode before a Looker Studio report (there is a /preview at the end of the URL). This is the demonstration mode, used essentially for templates.
Click on "Use my own data" to start creating your data source that will be used to copy the template.
The first thing to do to copy a template is to create a data source. For example, if you want to copy a Facebook Ads template, you'll need a Facebook Ads data source.
Fortunately, by clicking Use my own data you are automatically redirected to the suitable connector.

The next step can take a few moments to load. Once done, you are now seeing your data in the templates! Don't worry. You are the only one seeing it.
Now click on Edit and Share at the top right. Looker Studio creates your new report from the template, and you can now find it in your report list on the Looker Studio homepage.
You are now in edition mode, where you can change everything. You can learn how to modify your report by following this tutorial, and you'll learn more about the interface in this article.
Click the Share button at the top right and enter a Gmail or Google account in the input box. Next, select the role, viewer or editor. The first one won't be able to access the editor mode like you. The second one will be able to access and edit this report like you.
