Fix Pinterest Ads attribution error in Looker Studio

Creating a Pinterest Ads report with Looker Studio is an excellent idea for you, your collaborator, and your clients. You can design beautiful reports or find some online and adapt them. You can then share it quickly with whoever you want; they can access it without an account if necessary.

But sometimes, while creating such Pinterest Ads report, you need to modify the attribution system and end up with this error:

When did the "Invalid attribution windows combination" happen?

You face this error at two moments when creating a report, both when you play with attribution.

First scenario: when you create your Pinterest data source with our connector, you will be asked to set up the attribution windows for views, engagement, and clicks. If you pick an incorrect combination, the error prevents you from creating your data source.

Second scenario: you created your data source with the default configuration on attribution but selected the option to modify it on every chart. Then, you chose an incorrect combination on a specific chart. The error shows up for this chart only.

How can the "Invalid attribution windows combination" error be solved?

You must select a valid attribution combination for Views, Engagement, and Clicks. All combinations available are detailed in the error message, and here's a more readable version:

What to do if the problem persists?

With valid combinations, the error should not persist. Please double-check the configuration. You first select Views, Engagement, and then Clicks. In the Pinterest Adfs manager, you choose Views, Clics, and then only Engagements.
